While we haven't seen Darth Maul in the 15 years since Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was released, he makes a triumphant comeback in this impeccably executed fan film. Shawn Bu, of T7 Productions, wrote, edited, and produced the 18-minute film Darth Maul: Apprentice — A Star Wars Film for your viewing pleasure. Sure, The Phantom Menace might be the most forgotten film in the trilogy, but T7's take makes a case for Darth Maul as one of its greatest villains. We are utterly amazed by the makeup and effects — the Darth Maul makeup alone took four hours a day to achieve the full look.

Clearly the T7 Production team spent a tireless amount of time making this film. The evidence of their effort is detailed in the behind the scenes features which accompany the movie (note: the movie was filmed in Germany and one of the behind the scenes videos is awaiting subtitles). According to the description of the video, Darth Maul: Apprentice took two years to film. Frankly, we are not at all shocked! We can only cross our fingers for Darth Maul to make an appearance after the next five Star Wars films are released.
